Daily Ephesus & Virgin Mary House Tour From Istanbul

Highlights of the program;

  • Ephesus Ruins
  • Temple of Artemis
  • House of Virgin Mary

Your journey from the hotel to the Istanbul Airport for your trip to Izmir will begin in the lobby. Our trip to Ephesus will begin once we reach Izmir.

Our journey begins at Ephesus, home of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Temple of Artemis. Only the foundations of this magnificent Hellenistic Age building, which was built completely of marble and included sculptured column capitals and shafts, remain today. The ruins of the ancient Greco-Roman city of Ephesus are up next on your itinerary. After entering via the Magnesia Gate, your tour of the Roman provincial capital of Ephesus will begin with a leisurely stroll downwards. Along the way, you’ll see the Great Theater (Odeon), Celsius Library (Celsius), Temple of Hadrian (Hadrian’s), Fountain of Trajan (Trajan’s), and more. It is claimed that St. Paul preached to the Ephesians in this 24,000-seat theater, which is still in use today for festivals and performances. Following your exploration of this remarkable location, you will take a break for lunch before continuing your journey to the House of the Virgin Mary, which is revered as a sacred site by both Christians and Muslims. You will have the opportunity to experience a peculiar quiet that is conducive to prayer and meditation if you visit the House of the Virgin Mary, which is the official location acknowledged by the Vatican as the dwelling where the Virgin Mary spent her final days. This residence is known as the “House of the Virgin Mary.”

After the trip is over, we will take you to the airport in Izmir so that you may catch your flight to Istanbul. When you arrive in Istanbul, the car that will take you to your hotel will be waiting for you and will be ready to go.
